Budget Committee Public Hearing & Meeting Postponed

The Budget Committee of the City of Gearhart will hold a public hearing on Thursday, April 2nd, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. at Gearhart City Hall. The purpose of the public hearing is to consider possible uses for state revenue sharing funds for fiscal year 2020/2021.
Organizations may fill out an application for grant donation consideration. The application deadline is 5 p.m. on March 26th, 2020. You are encouraged to attend the Budget Committee hearing and may provide written and/or oral comments and suggestions to the Budget Committee respecting possible uses of entitlement funds.
Additionally, the City of Gearhart Budget Committee is seeking applications for (2) vacancies. The budget committee is a 10-member committee made up of the five members of Gearhart City Council and an equal number of citizens-at-large. Citizen members hold a (3) year term and must be at least 18 years of age, a registered voter, and reside within Gearhart city limits. The purpose of the Budget Committee is to review the budget or supplemental budget as prepared by the Budget Officer, make changes if necessary, approve the budget for City Council consideration, and set the maximum amount of taxes that may be levied by the City. The Budget Committee usually meets one evening a year with the possibility of one or two additional meetings, if necessary.
The first budget committee follows the public hearing April 2nd, 2020 at 5 p.m. at Gearhart City Hall.
If necessary, the second budget meeting will be on April 3rd, 2020, same time and place.
