Budget Committee Vacancies
The City of Gearhart Budget Committee is seeking applications for (5) vacancies. The Budget Committee is a 10-member committee made up of the five members of the Gearhart City Council and an equal number of citizens-at-large. Citizen members hold a (3) year term and must be at least 18 years of age, a registered voter, and reside within Gearhart city limits.
The purpose of the Budget Committee is to review the budget or supplemental budget as prepared by the Budget Officer, make changes if necessary, approve the budget for City Council consideration, and set the maximum amount of taxes that may be levied by the City.
The Budget Committee usually meets one evening a year with the possibility of one or two additional meetings, if necessary.
The first Budget Committee meeting for FY 22-2023 will be held on a Thursday in May. ***Date: Thursday, May 5th 5:00 p.m. confirmed***
If necessary, a second meeting will be held the evening after. (Friday, May 6th)

Applications must be received by 5 p.m. on April 29th, 2022.
The Mayor will make the Budget Committee appointments from the applicants at the May 4th City Council meeting.
