BUDGET COMMITTEE VACANCIES
The City of Gearhart Budget Committee is seeking applications for (2) (3) vacancies. The Budget Committee is a 10-member committee made up of the five members of the Gearhart City Council and an equal number of citizens-at-large. Citizen members hold a (3) year term and must be at least 18 years of age, a registered voter, and reside within Gearhart city limits.
The purpose of the Budget Committee is to review the budget or supplemental budget as prepared by the Budget Officer, make changes if necessary, approve the budget for City Council consideration, and set the maximum amount of taxes that may be levied by the City.
The Budget Committee usually meets two evenings a year with the possibility of an additional meeting, if necessary.
The first Budget Committee meeting for FY 24-2025 will be held in April with the second meeting/public hearing held in May.
If necessary, a second May meeting would be held the following evening.

Applications must be received by 5 p.m. on February 23rd, 2024. With a recent and unexpected additional vacancy, the deadline has been extended to noon on Friday, March 1st.
